About the team.
The work includes sophisticated estate planning, trust and estate administration, probate, and fiduciary counseling. These matters often involve significant assets, closely held businesses, blended families, tax-sensitive planning, and delicate family dynamics.
This associate attorney will work directly with Megan Farr and gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of a matter: client meetings, estate plan design, drafting, administration and transfer of assets, court filings, fiduciary guidance, and strategy for complex planning and administration issues. This associate will receive regular feedback, take meaningful ownership of assignments, and grow quickly in a collaborative, high-expectation environment.
Experience required.
- Experience in estate planning, probate, trust administration, or closely related practice areas is strongly preferred.
- A demonstrated interest in building a trusts and estates practice.
- Experience with client counseling, drafting estate planning documents, preparing probate filings, and advising fiduciaries is preferred.
- Superior analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong academic performance in law school is preferred.
- Two to four years of experience with demonstrated excellence in legal analysis and writing.
Compensation and benefits.
- Base salary is $160,000, $170,000, or $180,000 (for 2d, 3d, 4th year, respectively).
- 100% employer-paid medical/dental/vision.
- 401(k) with 3% employer match.
- Crystal Mountain seasons pass (Ikon Pass).
- Non-discretionary bonuses up to $15,000 per quarter for collections that exceed 375 hours billed in a quarter.

Farr Law Group’s trust and estate litigation team handles high-stakes disputes in undue influence and capacity claims, fiduciary misconduct, and contested administrations. These cases often involve significant assets and complex family dynamics. We build cases with disciplined fact development, thorough legal analysis, targeted discovery, and trial-ready strategy.
This associate will work directly with Owen Gabrielson, and gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of a case: strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions practice, and court appearances. This associate will receive regular feedback, take meaningful ownership of assignments, and grow quickly in a collaborative, high-expectation environment. Welcome to the team!

- Two to four years of litigation experience with demonstrated excellence in legal analysis and writing.
- A demonstrated interest in building a trust and estate litigation practice.
- Experience with core litigation tasks, including drafting pleadings, written discovery, and taking depositions.
- Superior analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong academic performance in law school is preferred.

Essential Duties:
- Prepare correspondence, court pleadings, legal notices for probate and trust administrations
- Communicate with clients, financial institutions, and attorneys
- Identify and track deadlines
- Present projects in effectively written memos, e-mails, or logical discussion
- Coordinate the storage of client information according to firm policy
- Maintain all administrative standards set by the firm, including the preparation and submission of daily billable time entries, attendance at administrative meetings, and other administrative tasks as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of probate administration experience
- Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to submit high quality work product
- Ability to anticipate, prioritize, plan, organize, and multitask
- Take initiative in handling projects and anticipating needs
- Ability to follow up on assignments in situations where there is little guidance and able to structure a system with minimal instruction
- Critical thinking skills, ability to use own prudent judgment and tact in decision-making to solve problems and achieve business outcomes
- Positive, flexible, and committed attitude
Compensation:
- $95,000 to $115,000 annually

The compensation range represents the typical pay for this position. Offers are based on experience, and qualifications and are generally not made at the top of the range except for candidates with exceptional experience and qualifications.
